Paratu Farm Cottage - relax & stay a while...

Paratu Cottage is a recently refurbished, delightful country cottage in a very quiet location on our farm. 
It was built around the 1930’s and was a cottage at the Maternity Annex in Waipukurau (for staff) until it was removed and put at Paratu Farm about 1965.

The space
The whole cottage is yours for your entire stay.
The space caters easily for 4-6 people, however if you wish to have 7 or 8 people this can be arranged, you will be quite cosy though.

Log Burner
​There is a log burner in the cottage that will heat the whole house. There is also plenty of firewood on hand to keep it going for you.
There are also lots of warm blankets to keep you warm in winter.

​Bedding configuration
Maximum Capacity: 6 people
Bedroom 1: 1 queen bed
Bedroom 2: 2 king single beds, 2 floor mattresses
Lounge: 1 double sofa bed (suits one adult or 2 small children)

Note: Please note that bedroom two has two king single beds with trundles (one a pop up and the other a pull out) under each bed. If you wish to use the trundle beds they will need to be pulled out and placed elsewhere in the cottage.
​There is also a double pull out sofa in the lounge. Although this is a double bed it would suit only ONE adult or two small children.

Other things to note
  • Please note that we would prefer you to leave your dog at home, but, if absolutely necessary, are welcome by prior arrangement only.  Dogs will NOT be allowed on the property during lambing season and with new lambs on the ground from July to end September.
    If you have made prior arrangements with us to bring your dog, they must be up to date with worm drenching. Dogs own bedding must be bought with you.
  • ​We are 3.6 km along a gravel road, which is sometimes not that well maintained. 
  • We are a working sheep and beef farm and will have farm dogs housed nearby, they are very friendly and will want to come and see you.  
  • I do have other pets (goats, chooks, sheep, donkeys) that love to be fed and given lots of pats and cuddles.
