Meet the Dee family

After spending many years in the Waikato region, Jo & Richard made the move to Central Hawkes Bay and purchased Paratu Farm late in 2016. It is located a short distance, 12 kms, from the rural town of Waipukurau.

Paratu Cottage, built in the 1930’s, needed a tidy up as it had been abandoned for a number of years. With a lot of time and effort it has been restored to its current homely state.

Paratu Farm is a 340 ha sheep and cattle fattening property. From the top of the farm you get expansive, 360 degree, stunning views of the Ruahine Ranges to Te Mata Peak and surrounding farmland.

Jo & Richard have three adult children, with the youngest just recently married, nursing and farming with her husband in Gisborne. 
Their middle son is a 50% shareholder in Paratu Farm and lives in Melbourne where he is a very successful jockey.
Their oldest son lives nearby in Havelock North and is having great success as an agent in rural/lifestyle real estate.
All three children were secondary schooled in Hawke's Bay where they were weekly boarders.​
